I decided that rather than pay ~$50 for 1/2 lb of the beans of this the exclusive Hacienda La Esmeralda Jaramillo Especial, Panama coffee, I would pay ~$10 for a cup brewed on the Clover machine at Intelligentsia. That ensured that the grind, brew temp and time were ideal for the coffee. It was definitely a unique experience, wonderfully floral and fruity.

I had the esmeralda a week ago, and in the meantime I was drinking some central american beans that just weren't exciting me. Today I picked up some Yirgacheffe and had a pleasant reminder of what I liked about the pricy stuff from Panama.
